Indie-pop newcomer Tina Boonstra releases heartbreaking single about losing a baby

Heart-wrenchingly poignant, Tina’s upcoming single wrestles with the helplessness of grief in the face of losing a baby.

Tina elaborates, “in a world where we are told anything can be fixed with time, money and a can-do attitude, I don’t know how to sit with pain and weep for what is lost, hoping for better days even as tears flow down”. One in four parents experience this at some point and yet, we don’t have the words to talk about it. Tina hopes with If I Could that we can open up this conversation and raise awareness for families in need.

Tina’s powerfully distinctive vocals are effortlessly entwined within pulsating percussion and punchy guitar lines, sounding akin to the likes of Arlo Parks and Bear’s Den as a result.

Growing up on the outskirts of Liverpool, Tina’s love-story with music began in the heart of the church, later cutting her teeth as a performer at open mics in London. Since then, Tina has honed her craft into a treasure trove of songs that are bold, compelling and refreshing. Tina has been featured on Spotify’s Mellow Pop and Easy Indie & Alternative playlists, as well as receiving support from BBC 6Music’s Tom Robinson, BBC Introducing London, Get In Her Ears and Nialler9 to name a few.

With her debut album ‘Circle Back, Start Again’ due to be released later this year, Tina hopes to continue to captivate listeners with her collection of intricately woven stories of love, fear and identity in the face of change, tenderly asking, “what do we do when life doesn’t go the way that we expect it to?”.
